Natural open spaces like parks, fields, lakes are great for exploring, playing and interacting with one another. The focus in these photos will be on you and your family. The best time of day for these locations are just before sunset for some magical warm lighting.

Urban spots offer added personality and character to your portraits. Pretty much any time of day will work as there is plenty of shade.

Great news, there are no rules, here! The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in whatever you are wearing so that we can see your personality shine through. After all, that is what this is all about!

For families, coordinating clothes shows that you are a group. However, that doesn't mean you need to be matchy matchy. Rather than focusing solely on color, think about the style of clothing. If you want a more casual look then everyone in the picture might want to wear clothes that they would wear for a day out at the park. If you are going for a more dressy look everyone will want to look sharp. Choose colors that compliment each other, colors in the same family. Lay them all out and see what you think of all of the outfits next to one another.
